Powder Coating
The art of applying a powdered pigment and curing with a heat source. Our class will include fabricating a metal blank from copper, the process of applying powder coat to the metal blank, finishing, and adding jewelry finding to construct a finished piece. Add layers of color to bare metal to build a perfect accessory piece that will complement any outfit.

Wet Felting
Come explore the fiber art of wet felting. Add layers of fiber, color, and texture to fabricate felt. The process of manipulating wool fiber through agitation results in a luxurious piece of felt fabric. Embellish with color and synthetic metallic fibers to add sheen, interest, and imagery. Use the fabric in appliqué, embroidery, needle felting or jewelry projects.

Polymer Clay Tiles (Pt. 2)
To continue with our canes, we begin slicing and combining pieces to create a slab or tile. In addition, we will investigate texture with cutters, stamps, and stencils to build a collection of shapes into a finished piece. Polymer Clay Canes (Pt. 1)
Explore additional skills in polymer clay. If you took our previous polymer clay class or you just want to try your hand at a new medium, this class is for you. We will be making canes such as bullseye, graduated, floral, etc. These colorful coils are the basis for more complex designs like kaleidoscopes, flowers, and mosaics. Canes are formed with multiple colors adding metallics and foils for some emphasis. The class is designed in 2 parts, take one or both. We will combine the canes in the next class to create a slab or a tile. Use the tile as it is or form a slab that can be used for jewelry pieces and embellishments.

Book Binding
Our third class in the series puts our papers into our cover. We will combine the pages into sections and sew them into the cover. Try your hand at making a simple art journal or continue your Art Book as we bind it together with a Coptic binding. An art form from the 2nd century, Coptic book binding involves sewing paper pages together to incorporate into a bound book. We will manufacture a bound book using this sewing technique that allows a book to lie flat. If you do not participate in the other 2 classes, you can still complete a book and learn the process with materials provided.

Cover Mania
The second class in the series involves creating a cover for our book. We will be using the paper with made in session one along with other paper and paper from you stash. The cover will consist of layering techniques. We will combine paper, mediums, ephemera, inks, and embellishments. Build a removable cover for and existing book, add a simple sewn, or continue in the third class in the series to put in all together in a Coptic bound book.

Paper Making
Included in this ancient art form will be traditional dip and pour methods to create handmade paper. Learn to add embellishments and color into your paper. Finish several sheets of paper to be included in your handmade Art Book. This class is the first in the series of our book making class series. Take one, two or all three, they stand alone as well.

Join us in making a whimsical element for your home or garden. We will venture into wire wrapping and fabrication with beads to design fanciful décor.We use professional jeweler's tools bending, coiling and weaving wire around on itself capturing beads and stone elements.
