Wood Veneer Marquetry (2 Pt. Series)

A traditional art form of cutting designs from wood veneer and applying them to another substrate. Try your hand at crafting a motif from various wood veneers using both conventional and modern methods. Class one focuses on design and cutting. Class two will assemble, glue, add color, and finish to complete the project in this two-part class.

Embossed Thermal Plastic

Construct a decorative piece with heat reactive thermal plastics. We will use Lumiere mica paints and alcohol markers to add color and various stamps to create texture. The finished piece can be fashioned into jewelry pieces, ornaments or elements for mixed media.
