BCA Mission
Business Committee for the Arts –
Austin, San Antonio and the Hill Country
Doris Perez, Interim Director
Honorary Co-Chairs: Susan Howard Chrane and Rene Benson
Mission: To showcase business owners and CEOs who creatively partner with the arts for mutual benefit.
The Business Committee for the Arts (BCA) was founded in 1967 by David Rockefeller and recognizes businesses of all sizes for their exceptional involvement with the arts that enrich the workplace, education, and the community.
Each November, the BCA Ten Awards in New York showcase small, medium and large companies who represent some of the most creative partnerships.
The BCA has recently merged with the Americans for the Arts. Our Business Committee for the Arts represents the 9th BCA affiliate in the nation, following the state's definition of the Hill Country region . . . Austin, San Antonio, and the Hill Country (click here to see map).
BCA members know that a strong, diverse cultural base is essential to the region's competitiveness in attracting new businesses, tourism and talent.
At the same time, BCA members understand the benefits to their employees, clients and their bottom line. The tools available through the 40-year-old BCA helps CEOs and business owners capitalize on their investments.
