Party Time
Join the Directors of the Cibolo Arts Council on Thursday, January 25th, 6:30 - 8:30 at the Cellar on Main in Boerne.
We’ll do a brief “State of the Council” - bidding fond farewell to those rotating off the board and welcoming new director Roxi McCloskey, Executive Director of the Majestic Ranch Arts Foundation. Roxi is also an adjunct professor of art at UTSA and you may very well know her best as the curator of the wonderful ongoing exhibition of art at The Bear Moon Bakery. Join us in giving Roxi a warm Boerne Wilkommen! It’ll be fun, and we’ll buy you a glass of wine when you renew your membership. See you there!
Art in the Park - Kinder Kunst
Art In The Park will celebrate its fourth season at the Cibolo Nature Center, May 19, 9am - noon. The goal of this annual event is to bring families together to excercise creativity in a beautiful natural setting.

Cibolo Arts Council Purchases String Bass for BISD
In December the Cibolo Arts Council proudly purchased a new double string bass for the BISD Orchestra program. The purchase was made possible through a grant from the Texas Music Office of the Office of the Governor. The bass enhances an already exceptional orchestra program in its second year at BISD secondary schools.
Thanks to some Special Volunteers
Melissa Haberstroh of the The Burlap Horse, along with her husband Jeff, have acted as the Boerne Festival of Art & Music auction chairpersons for the past 3 years. They have directed the auction, physically worked the auction, and they created its organizational structure. This year's auction was highlighted with a record sale for Raul Gutierrez's painting "The Proud One." Raul is represented by Sandra Canavan Fine Art Gallery.
Upcoming Art Happenings
There are a number of art happenings brewing in and around Boerne this holiday season. Keep your eyes open for coming events at Bella Creo, Highland House Gallery, Carriage House Gallery, Arroyo Gallery, Garden Path Gallery, Sandra Canavan Fine Art Gallery, and Zaner's Art Haus starting Thanksgiving weekend and into the month of December. The Gallery of Imagination is a new addition to the Dickens on Main festivities to be located on the Fiserv Health parking lot. Also, make your reservations now for the Boerne Community Theatre production of A Christmas Carol, directed by Patrick Crowley, December 1 - 16.

We are just catching our breath as we sail into the holiday season, and we wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who came out to enjoy and support the Boerne Festival of Art & Music. At the art show this year, we saw a 60% increase in sales! Please remember that when you make a purchase from a working studio artist, you are making a difference in our culture. Your support allows that artist to keep working and surviving. Many would characterize art as a luxury. We see it as a necessity in a civilized and cultured world.
