There are a number of art happenings brewing in and around Boerne this holiday season. Keep your eyes open for coming events at Bella Creo, Highland House Gallery, Carriage House Gallery, Arroyo Gallery, Garden Path Gallery, Sandra Canavan Fine Art Gallery, and Zaner's Art Haus starting Thanksgiving weekend and into the month of December. The Gallery of Imagination is a new addition to the Dickens on Main festivities to be located on the Fiserv Health parking lot. Also, make your reservations now for the Boerne Community Theatre production of A Christmas Carol, directed by Patrick Crowley, December 1 - 16.

Our next major citywide community arts event is the 11th Annual Parade of Artists sponsored by the Boerne Area Artists Association. This self-guided art tour takes place on April 21 & 22, kicking-off with citywide gallery openings on Friday evening, April 20. But you must mark your calendar for the entire 3rd week in April. BAAA President, David Querbach, is planning for this one to be bigger and better than any before. This year will include a major art show at the Cibolo Nature Center entitled "Art & Conservation: Hidden Treasures." This show partners artists with landowners to reveal some of the most beautiful places in the Kendall County area, many of which we seldom get a chance to enjoy because they are on private properties. A portion of sales will benefit the work of the Cibolo Nature Center.

Plans are also in the works for a noon concert on Main Plaza, and a fund raising mixer to benefit the Cibolo Arts Council event Art In The Park, May 19, at the Cibolo Nature Center. This event focuses on bringing families together in a beautiful natural setting to participate in hands on art projects and activities. We are particularly concerned with making this opportunity available to at risk families and children. The artists of our community very generously donate their time and expertise to make this happen and it's always great fun for the child in all of us!
