2009 Art in the Park, May 16
Art in the Park will take place on . . . Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cibolo Nature Center in Boerne.
The Cibolo Nature Center and the Cibolo Arts Council have partnered for another year of an action-packed day of expressing creativity inspired by nature. School-aged children and adults will work together on make & take art activities that include painting, making animal puppets, taking and framing digital photos and much more.
Professional and student artists will be in the park demonstrating their talents and interacting with participants.
Entertainment will include music, theatre, dance, martial arts, storytelling and more--including great food by Piezacs. Demonstrations will include basket making, weaving, tinsmith knitting. Boerne Professional Artists, the Boerne Art League, and Majestic Ranch student will be part of the fun for all. Some of the art projects and vendors will include the Upon's, Bird Binoculars, cartwheel/beading, phot frames/sandwich board, nature imprints, collage, wildflowers, cookie decorating, chart art, mural/special color crayons, dress up box, face painting, recycled bottle shakers, ribbon wands
Children and adults will create and work together. No drop-offs please. Donations will be accepted at the gate.
The Cibolo Nature Center’s lead business sponsor for this year’s Art in the Park event is Authentic Custom Homes. Art in the Park is just one of several Saturday Children’s Educational Programs that is sponsored by Valero Energy Foundation.
The Cibolo Arts Council’s vision is to create an arts culture through promotion, education, collaboration, and leadership. The group’s mission is to develop and sustain an environment that supports and promotes awareness, appreciation, education, and access to all the Arts in the Kendall County area.
