The Hill Country Council for the Arts Mission & Goals

Our Mission

The Hill Country Council for the Arts mission is to develop and sustain an environment that supports and promotes awareness, appreciation, education and access to all the Arts.

As a 501c3 nonprofit organization we strive to be an inclusive resource for all the arts, artists, arts organizations, and supporters of the Arts throughout the Texas Hill Country:

·         Literary Arts

·         Performing Arts

·         Visual & Crafted Arts

·         Professionals, Recreational/Hobbyists

·         Educators & Students

·         Galleries & Museums

·         Patrons & Aficionados, Collectors

Our focus is also to create enhanced community awareness, develop opportunities for collaboration and involvement, encourage individual and corporate financial support, develop a long range plan for promoting the growth of the Arts, and reaching out geographically to all areas of the Hill Country and Texas.

Throughout the years, HCCArts has sponsored several major annual arts events in the Texas Hill Country--Fall Festival of Arts & Music, Fotoseptiembre, and Art in the Park. We have also supported other well-known events, such as Art & Conservation (collaboratively sponsored by the Cibolo Nature Center, local land owners, Boerne Professional Artists (BPA), and HCCArts artists), and Parade of Artists (sponsored by the BPA).

We are honored to have been recently awarded by the Business Committee for the Arts (BCA) the exclusive Hill Country BCA affiliate, representing the entire Texas Hill Country, including San Antonio and Austin. For more details, contact Sonja Howle, Director at bca@hccarts.org.

HCCArts seeks to serve the many Hill Country artists groups and organizations, such as Second Saturday Art & Wine, Majestic Ranch Arts Foundation, Kerrville Performing Arts Society, Uptown Blanco Arts & Entertainment District, which flourish in our Hill Country communities. We are also fast becoming a major stakeholder in our community's revitalization and public arts master planning and projects.
