Our Story, Our Timeline

The Short Version . . .

In 2000, as an ad hoc committee of culturally minded citizens and artists working with Boerne Mayor, Patrick Heath, the Cibolo Arts Council was formed and became a 501c3 nonprofit designation in 2001.

In 2009, our name changed to “Hill Country Council for the Arts” to better reflect our mission serving Kendall County and organization partners. We were also named the exclusive 9th national affiliate, Hill Country BCA (incl. San Antonio & Austin) for 19 counties, thus partnering with national businesses and organizations to enrich the lives of all who live in Kendall County and neighboring hill country communities.

For more than ten years HCCArts has teamed with artists, organizations, businesses, and Boerne to support and also produce events that bring cultural vitality and economic benefit to the Hill Country. We also have been delegated the responsibility by the city of Boerne to develop a public art master plan and funding for Boerne’s gateways and cityscape.

HCCArts continues today to support our arts partners and all the arts throughout the Texas Hill Country. Become an HCCArts member and partner to help us become the central online resource for what's happening in the arts in the Texas Hill Country.

HCCArts History Making Timeline

Enjoy reading our history making timeline of events and accomplishments soon to be posted here. These accomplishments could not have been achieved without the collaboration of our many arts partners, arts organizations, businesses, and supporters of the arts throughout the Hill Country, Texas, and the nation. Thank you all for your continuing support and partnership on behalf of  all the arts!
